Vogue Japan reunites fashion icons of the eighties

The Japanese edition of Vogue unveiled its fifteenth anniversary issue not long ago, and to celebrate the one-and-a-half-decade milestone, the fashion bible has brought together five legendary supermodels of the nineteen-eighties who are dubbed “Perfect Icons.”

Adorning the special September 2014 number’s cover are Claudia Schiffer, Nadja Auermann, Stephanie Seymour, Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell, but it doesn’t stop there. The front of the glossy also features a foldout which reveals an array of some of the most in-demand models of more recent times, all photographed by Luigi and Iango.

Joining the retro catwalk queens are Carolyn Murphy, Eva Herzigova, Guinevere van Seenus, Karen Elson and Maggie Rizer, who represent the top mannequins of the nineties, while Saskia de Brauw, Tao Okamoto, Malgosia Bela, Mariacarla Boscono and Natasha Poly exemplify those of the new millenium.
