Gisele Bundchen becomes first non-athlete face of Under Armour

Gisele Bundchen is no stranger to being in first place, and the Brazilian supermodel now becomes the first ever non-athlete to land a multi-year contract with American sportswear label Under Armour.

The thirty-four year-old beauty, who also topped Forbes Magazine’s list of the world’s highest-paid mannequins again with $47 million and set a new benchmark by out-earning second place by $39 million, was reportedly tapped as the athletic performance brand’s new spokesmodel for a deal that will ensure her immense fortune doesn’t run out any time soon.

“The sums involved are similar to those recently offered to Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, when Under Armour tried to lure the NBA star away from rival Nike with a $275 million, 10-year contract,” an insider told Forbes. “Durant ended up renewing his contract with Nike.”

In anticipation of Under Armour’s fans likely being in favor of or against their move of having a model rather than a sportperson front their campaign, the popular label released a promotional video which sees Bunchen revealing her inner athlete.
