Oscar De La Renta Laid To Rest In Private Ceremony


Legendary Designer Oscar de la Renta was laid to rest in a private ceremony on Monday at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on Park Avenue and 84th Street in New York, very close to the designer’s Manhattan home.

The Fashion industry along with several Hollywood and political elites all turned out to pay their respects to the much loved philanthropist and well-respected business man. From De La Renta’s peers (Anna Wintour, Karlie Kloss, Michael Kors, Valentino, Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenburg, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren), to Hollywood Actors (Hugh Jackman, Matthew Broderick), to the politicians (Former U.S. Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg)

Readings were given by Clinton, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, among others with the service lasting one hour.

Mr. de la Renta passed away at age 82 on Oct 20, after he lost his battle to cancer surrounded by his loved ones at home.
