The last several months have played witness to an impressive array of high-end fashion gigs swiftly making their way under Gigi Hadid‘s belt. And it seems the American mannequin is in it for the long haul, as her modeling career, which has been rising in tremendously high speed, has proven to have absolutely no intention whatsoever of coming to a stop any time soon.

The nineteen year old head turner has certainly been taking the very much competitive world of fashion by storm lately, so it was really only a matter of time before her constant hard work payed off and she was awarded with her very first ever cover of Vogue – something which is considered by many if not most people in the modeling industry, as that which officially consolidates a mannequin’s status as a top model. The California girl’s debut on the front of the highly sought after fashion bible comes in the March 2015 number of the coveted magazine’s Spanish edition.

“So b e y o n d excited to share my FIRST VOGUE COVER,” the statuesque eye catcher gushed to her more than one-million eight-thousand Instagram followers on the morning of Friday (the thirteenth of February). The image on the front of the publication, which was made possible by the renowned Australian fashion photographer Benny Horne, sees Hadid oozing glamour and sex appeal while reclined against a pale peach-colored backdrop and donned in a furry multicolored patchwork jacket that is left open to reveal a portion her bra-less torso.

Hadid’s luxurious sun kissed blonde tresses were styled by Neil Moodie to pour down smoothly from a side part, while her natural beauty was dolled up by makeup artist Benjamin Puckey using cosmetics in neutral tones. The cover star’s chic outfit, which was chosen by Spanish wardrobe stylist Sara Fernandez Castro, also consists of a colorful printed scarf and a pair of slim high-waisted brown trousers with gold buttons. The glossy additionally features a text which hails the green-eyed charmer as one of today’s “fashion icons” and a “pure inspiration.”

“I would define myself in one word as loyal,” Hadid said in an accompanying video posted on Vogue.es, which features behind the scenes footage of the making of her cover story while at the same time letting viewers in on a thing or two about herself. “I think the best thing about being a model is probably how much you get to travel. I’ve been to so many parts of the world and on so many cool adventures and experiences that I would have never been able to do so otherwise” she explained.

“I think the best advice for striking a pose is to not try and strike a pose. I think it’s so much cooler when you just kind of try and do natural things and then the photographer can capture that,” the eldest daughter of Dutch-born reality television star and former mannequin Yolanda Foster continued. “Vogue, to me, is the epitome of fashion. I’m so happy to be here, yay! Thank you Vogue.”
