The February issue of Vogue Italia is an ode to joy and who better than Kate Moss to grace the cover.

The British beauty was photographed by Mario Testino who was also responsible for all pictures inside the magazine. Styled by Katie Grand, the 42-year-old flashes her radiant smile with her head back, and her blond hair hiding most of her right eye. Sporting a dark leather jacket, her lips painted bright nude, while her eyes have dark eyeliner and mascara, Moss is hardly recognizable at first glance.

Vogue Italia’s Editor in chief Franca Sozzani told WWD that asking Mario Testino to photograph the entire issue of the magazine was ‘a spontaneous decision, also in juxtaposition to photographing models who are always serious and at times ‘depressed.’ Mario’s approach to life is carefree, his laugh contagious and his ability to never take himself seriously did the rest.’ Sozzani said that with the issue and its joyful images, she wished to reflect an attitude of ‘positive thinking,’ which she has always believed is ‘an art.’
