Karlie Kloss is the face of Barneys Spring 2016 campaign.

The supermodel was photographed by legendary photographer Juergen Teller in Miami Beach during Art Basel. In the resulting images which is more of imaginative art than commercial advertising, Kloss models the spring collections of labels like The Row, Prabal Gurung and Proenza Schouler.

The location of the shoot plays a significant influence on the look of the images as Kloss poses between muscle men, palm trees and golden pillars. The contrast between the flowing fabrics of the garments, her flowing blond hair and the often rough-operating environment makes the campaign images striking and surreal.

‘The shoot was right at the center point of where fashion and art overlap, Juergen lives in that center point every day,’ Kloss said, in a press release. ‘[The experience] was pretty surreal,‘ she added. ‘We were driving in a van around the city, which was very crowded because of the fair, running out to do shots, with me changing in the back. It was definitely one of those moments where I go, ‘I can’t believe this is my job!’

The campaign also reunites Kloss with Juergen Teller who first worked together in 2008 for Marc Jacobs’ Lola perfume.
