Zayn Malik Designs Shoe Collection for Giuseppe Zanotti
Zayn Malik has teamed up with luxury Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti to launch a sneaker collection.
Titled ‘Giuseppe x Zayn’ the lineup consists of two boots and two sneakers in neutral leathers and suedes emblazoned with a ‘Giuseppe for Zayn’ logo plate. In one of the campaign images, Zayn appears seated aginst a stone wall sporting black leather shoes from the collection.
‘I really believe style comes from taking chances, being bold and not being afraid to express yourself,’ Malik said in a statement. ‘I feel Giuseppe does that with his collections-and I try to do that with my music.’
The 23 year old singer and 59 year old designer got to know and appreciate each other at Paris Fashion Week 2015. ‘I like to work with musicians because we share a very similar vision,’ Zanotti told US Vogue in an interview. ‘[Zayn and I] have always had an appreciation for one another, but it was during our first encounter in Paris that we realized we had a similar attitude and approach: iconic, edgy, and expressive. Zayn’s bold and individualistic vision, easy coolness, and love for fashion mean a lot to me.’
Malik follows in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna as the latest A-list celeb to team up with the designer for an exclusive line. This isn’t the first designer collaboration for the singer, who has already worked together with Donatella Versace for Versus Versace set to launch in May 2017.
Priced between $795 to $1,295, the capsule collection will be available on January 28 in select Giuseppe Zanotti Design stores, on giuseppezanottidesign.com, and in department stores (including Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom).
