Meet Katsia Zingarevich, Our September 2017 Model Of The Month
Say Hello to our September 2017 Model Of The Month, Belarusian beauty Katsia Damankova Zingarevich.
Born in Minsk, she never dreamed of being a model, and was keen on pursuing genetic engineering after school. However, she was destined for it and was scouted by a modelling agent who saw her in a Minsk cafe. At first she was not interested, but after her mother convinced her she gave it a try.
Thereafter, she began modeling at the age of 17, after winning the ‘Supermodel of the World’ competition in 2006 which took place in New York. Katsia signed a $250,000 contract with Ford models and landed a four-page Nexxus ad that ran in Vogue and Allure. Fast forward to a few years later in 2010, she was signed by Victoria’s Secret as one of its new faces, and was also chosen to parade for its Fashion Show that year.
Professional and organized, Katsia is one of those rare combinations of Beautiful and smart. She considers the ability to traveling around the world, and living in different cities as the most exciting aspect about modeling. When asked what she dislikes about the modeling industry she is critical. ‘What I don’t like about industry is that it’s rather brutal and you have to be strong to follow the way you’ve chosen. I left my home when I was 15 and know what it means to be a teenager in a modeling world – not easy at all,’ she says.
Celine and Stella McCartney are her favorite designers, while Christy Turlington is her all time favorite model. She is also a big fan of Peter Lindbergh’s work. ‘I adore many photographers but Peter Lindbergh’s works are something special, seems like you are a witness of what is happening on set,’ she tells us.
And when it comes to the one piece of advice she has to offer, Katsia tells us its to: ‘Never betray yourself. Never agree on doing things on set you didn’t feel comfortable enough.’
Katsia has plenty of runway experience having marched for many couture houses and top designers, notably in 2011 for Stella McCartney Autumn/Winter. She also starred in several advertising campaigns of Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herera, H&M and Kerastastase to name a few. In 2013, she was tapped by lingerie brand Intimissimi to front its spring-summer advertising campaign. She has also been seen in fashion magazines such as Allure, Marie Claire, and Harper’s Bazaar.
In 2009, Katsia married Russian millionaire Anton Zingarevich: the former owner of British-based Reading Football Club, whom she met in a social network and with whom she has two lovely children.
At present modeling is more of a hobby for Katsia who is the co-founder of Beautyhack.ru, a website dedicated to beauty and health. When she’s not working Katsia loves spending time with her husband and kids.
