Stine Goya is our ‘Brand of the Week’.

The woman behind the brand, Stine Nistrup Madsen founded her eponymous womenswear label in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2006 after noticing a gap for artistic and, playful designs in the Scandinavian market. The Danish-born designer graduated from Central Saint Martins in London and spent even years in London, where she worked for fashion houses like Eley Kishimoto and Johan Saunders prior to establishing her label. She modeled and worked as a stylist, and finally as a fashion editor for one of Denmark’s most renowned fashion magazines ‘Cover’.

A decade later Goya has more than 30 collections under her belt and has left a mark on the Scandinavian fashion scene. Known for her use of pastel colors and fine fabrics, she finds inspiration whenever she travels as well as the art world which continues to influence her work and has been a part of the brand ever since the beginning. What makes Stine Goya the brand we all know and admire are the words artistic, playful and bold. The three magic words function as her design mantra and are visible on all designs, colors, and prints.

Stine Goya presents four international collections a year: Autumn/Winter, Pre-Spring, Spring/Summer and Pre-Autumn, comprising approximately 150 styles in a main collection and 90 in a pre-collection, including accessories and footwear. Thanks to their signature marriage of color & print, its four seasonal collections, artist collaborations, and fashion shows continue to receive international acclaim.

Since the brand was founded in 2006 it has undergone a major development over the last couple of years, a development realized with her husband and partner Thomas Hertz. It has grown quite a bit with various departments co-ordinating with a management team that oversees the global exposure and expansion of the company. The privately owned independent label is currently represented by online and department stores and more than 250 retailers across all continents. In 2017, the label celebrated its 10th anniversary.
