Model of the Week: Lucia Lopez

Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Last week, we profiled Spanish beauty Nuria Rothschild and this week we’ve decided to feature Lucia Lopez.
The 17-year-old Madrilenian was discovered while shopping in a supermarket with her mother by Nacho Aysa, director of the agency The Cool Models. Aysa is one of the most important agents of Madrid, the same one who discovered the top Blanca Padilla. However, as she was only 15 years old it was too early to put her on the catwalks.
Ashley Brokaw, recognized director of casting for firms such as Prada or Louis Vuitton, saw her photos and wanted to sign her for Proenza Schouler. Lucia finally made her debut internationally in September 2017 for Roberto Cavalli in Milan. Since then she has walked for Elie Saab, Stella McCartney and Saint Laurent, Hermes, Sonia Rykiel, Balmain, and Altuzarra on the runways of Milan and Paris. She has also appeared in catalogs for Carolina Herrera.
Lucia also made history by becoming the undisputed star of the 67th edition of Fashion Week Madrid (January 2018), a distinction that comes after receiving the L’Oreal Paris Award as best model. Intelligent and resolute, Lucia is an admirer of Linda Evangelista and hopes to continue working as a model, while she pursues a course in journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid.
Beautiful inside and out, her photogenicity is unquestionable and the aura of mystery and melancholy that she transmits is enchanting. From the moment she was discovered it was obvious that Lucia was going to make waves. She has conquered the catwalk and is on track to becoming a supermodel.
