Zoe Gegout

Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Last week, we profiled Dutch beauty Marjan Jonkman this week we decided to feature the charming Zoe Gegout. We caught up with her to talk about her career so far, career goals, and how she unwinds after work.

How Did Your Modeling Career Start?
I was first scouted at the age of 15 while I was shopping with my mother in Lyon but didn’t sign a contract with an agency at the time. At 18 years old, after graduating from high school, I met my agent and started to travel and work around the world as a full time model.

What Did You Want To Do As A Young Girl?
Oh god! I had so many ideas ! I wanted to be an architect/home designer for a really long time and then at the age of 17 I was interested in becoming a doctor or a lawyer (two really different jobs aha). Today I am so glad I’ve stopped any kind of study after high school to focus on modeling because now that I want to study part time, I realize those jobs are really NOT what I want to be doing ! I really didn’t know myself well back in the time !

Your First Modeling Job?
An ecom shoot for Oysho in Barcelona.

What Is Your Favorite Aspect About Being A Model?
There is a lot of different good aspects about being a model, but I think that, for me it’s the fact that you get a chance to learn about yourself more by traveling, meeting new people everyday, being alone in unknown places, working and being surrounded with people older than you…I feel like I’ve grown so quick in 2 years of modeling.

Is There Anyone You Admire As A Role Model And Why?
It changes all the time but currently it’s the model Valeria Lipovetsky who has also a youtube channel. Through social media, she is a really empowering woman, self-love, healthy lifestyle…

What Is Your Dream Shoot/Campaign?
Definitely a film campaign. Like a perfume campaign. I found out when I started modeling that I actually love filming and acting.

What’s The Best Life Advice You’ve Ever Received?
Listen to yourself.

How Do You Stay In Shape?
I love training and I’m a member of equinox which is a gym that offers every class I can think of (yoga, pilates, barre, boxing, running classes, HIIT cardio classes…) so I’m never getting bored and I usually go 3 to 5 times a week. I also eat healthy most of the time. It used to be a difficult thing for me but the more I learn about nutrients and how food can heal the more it is natural for me to go towards healthy products that make me feel the best version of myself! (I’m also starting a part-time nutrition school in January) !

When You’re Not Busy Modeling, What Are Some Of Your Favorite Things To Do?
I usually go to the gym in the morning, then I have a lunch with a friend or I go to a coffee place to study, read the papers, do some emails, call my family…and finally, go food shopping and cook!
