Louis Vuitton pulls Michael Jackson inspired collection

Louis Vuitton has announced that it will no longer be producing the Michael Jackson-inspired men’s collection which was shown during its Fall/Winter 2019 Runway show at Paris Fashion Week.

The announcement was made following allegations of sexual abuse by the King of Pop in the Leaving Neverland documentary which aired on HBO earlier this month.

‘I am aware that in light of this documentary the show has caused emotional reactions. I strictly condemn any form of child abuse, violence or infringement against any human rights,’ Louis Vuitton artistic director Virgil Abloh said in a statement.

‘We find the allegations in the documentary deeply troubling and disturbing,’ added Michael Burke, Vuitton’s chairman and chief executive officer. ‘Child safety and welfare is of utmost importance to Louis Vuitton. We are fully committed to advocating this cause.’

In addition, the French fashion house indicated that it will no longer make products that can be linked to Michael Jackson, such as the T-shirt with the dancing feet of the singer.
