Model of the Week: Victoria Tuaz

Victoria-Tuaz

Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Last week, we profiled Austrian model Mick Estelle and this week we’re turning our attention to Victoria Tuaz. We caught up with her to talk about her passion for modeling, how she stays fit and what’s on her playlist right now.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?

Not really, as a kid, I dreamt of being a professional snowboarder. I also had dreams about being a weather forecaster! Ha! There’s nothing better than seeing the world through the eyes of the little ones.

How were you scouted?

My dad took me to a small agency in Lille (where I grew up), and then I won the Elite Model Look Contest in 2008.

How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?

Patient, professional and fun.

Your first modeling job?

That’s quite a while ago so it is blurry. But about 10 years ago one of my first was for Marie Claire Italy in Tulum.

What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?

I enjoy traveling the world very much and seeing different faces in each job. And then you find them back once in a while. No office, no routine, no boredom!

What is your dream shoot/campaign?

L’Oreal Paris, Ralph Lauren, Balmain

What’s the best life advice you’ve ever received?

Be humble.

How do you define success?

Success is about being happy and going to bed every night with a day well-filled and a peaceful mind.

How do you stay in shape?

I tend to eat healthy on an average basis. My workout routine goes from boxing to muscles strengthening, skiing when I’m home, or biking across mountains, and even a nice tennis game with my girlfriend when the weather allows it. Remaining active makes me feel great. I also enjoy dancing in the club, and this is most certainly a proper workout as well!

What does fashion mean to you?

Giving color and shape to one’s mind.

How would you describe your style?

I don’t really have a style. I like to dress in comfy clothes, but always with class and with a rock touch. All Saints kind of style would be the best to define it.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Candies, and a good bottle of white wine with some Savoy cheese on a baguette slice. France runs in my blood.

If you had to be head to toe in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?

Ralph Lauren without any doubt.

Denim or leather?

Why choose when you can have both!

Heels or flats?

Flats

Vintage or contemporary fashion?

Contemporary

If you were an emoji, which would you be and why?

The sun, because it’s my best vitamin

What are some feminine qualities you admire?

Women are the warriors of life, from being a mom to a seductive weapon. They have it all.

What’s on your playlist right now?

Peggy Gou – Starry night
Keziah Jones – Long love distance
Travis Scott – Butterfly effect

Describe a scenario that makes you feel absolute bliss

Being in the mountains, with my friends and family, living the simple life, riding my motorbike and quads alone for hours while listening to some music, high volume in the headphones. There is nothing more liberating.

When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?

I enjoy the workout, the getaway weekends with friends and family. I also read books, go to exhibitions, concerts.
