Marc Jacobs taps Sofia Coppola’s Daughter for its latest campaign

Marc Jacobs Heaven

Sofia Coppola’s oldest daughter Romy Croquet, is Marc Jacobs’ latest muse for his new diffusion line ‘Heaven’.

The almost 14-year-old follows in the footsteps of her mother, who’s friendship with Jocobs goes way back. Coppola had posed for the designer earlier in his career and over the years has collaborated with him for campaigns and commercials. Romy not only stars in the accompanying campaign but styled and shot all the images herself.

Heaven which launched as part of the Marc Jacobs brand in September this year is a polysexual line described as a brand of bliss. Embodying a ’90s teen vibe the line comprises of a range of items in the signature Marc Jacobs style at a more affordable price point than the main line. Noteworthy pieces include a green zipper hoodie adorned with pink bears, a graphic long-sleeve knit, a sunflower inspired sundress, a backpack and keychain.

The new diffusion line draws upon the origins of the Marc Jacobs impulse: subversion, teenage daydreams, alienation nation, queer youth, toxic shock valley girls, candy ravers, apocalypse sugar, psychedelic fantasia, girls who are boys and boys who are girls, those who are neither, negative space, day-glo dystopia, suburban euphoria and the multifaceted characters who have made up the Marc Jacobs universe for the past 30 years.

‘Heaven is a world within our Marc Jacobs world. It continues the momentum that we’ve always had of bringing creative people together and making something with a lot of integrity and a real respect for the spirit in which we built the company, but doing it through a lens that is completely of this moment,’ said Jacobs in a previous statement.

The Heaven collection is available at marcjacobs.com and all Marc Jacobs stores. Meanwhile check out the campaign images here
