Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Previously, we profiled Mandy Stenzel and this week we’re turning our attention to Lotte Kleihauer. Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
No, I have never thought about being a model. But I am now more than happy how it went for me.

How were you scouted?
I was scouted via Instagram in 2018. My mother posted a photo of me from a shoot I did with a photographer from my hometown. An agent from Modelwerk reacted to this post and I got invited to visit them in Hamburg.

How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?
Open-minded, reliable and spontaneous.

Your first modeling job?
My first job was for Unger Fashion. It is a brand for exclusive women’s fashion from Hamburg. I was super excited!

What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
The thing I love the most about being a model is definitely the chance to meet and work with so many different and kind people. Every workday is individual and always exciting. And of course to travel and to visit new places all around the world.

Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
Adut Akech is an awesome model in my opinion. She seems super kind, loving and ambitious. She definitely deserves it all and it is so cool that she won the ‘Model of the year’ award 2019. Her social commitment is impressive and she uses her prominence as an ambassador against discrimination and racism.

What’s been your biggest OMG moment to date?
I was booked for a show for the first time and was allowed to open and close the show. I was so happy and proud! That was an exciting experiences and gave me confidence.

What is your dream shoot/campaign?
My dream is it to walk for the big fashion houses at the fashion week someday.

What’s the best life advice you’ve ever received?
Do not compare your life to others. There is no comparison between the sun and the moon, they shine when it is time.

How do you stay in shape?
I play basketball since I am eight years old. Usually without corona I would have training up to three per week. But in these times I like to do home workouts or go for long walks. I am always super happy in nature.

How would you describe your style?
Easy going, denim and t-shirt girl – mostly second hand / vintage.

Denim or leather?
I would always choose denim! You will rarely see me without my favorite paijeans.

Heels or flats?
Flats!

Vintage or contemporary fashion?
I love vintage shopping – it is where I found the most unique and cool pieces not everyone is wearing. And I think it is a great way to live more sustainable, which is very important to me!

When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
In my free time I love to spent a lot of quality time with my friends and family. It makes me happy to go out for a walk, grab a coffee to go and enjoy nature.

What are you working on now and what do you dream of happening in the future?
I am currently working on finishing school and am looking forward being able to travel and work as a model after.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
I always find these questions difficult to answer. I am more that kind of person who tries to live in the present and appreciate what I have now.

Check out Lotte’s profile here and check back next week to find out who our next ‘Model of the Week’ is.
