LVMH Prize reveals its Semi Finalists for 2022

Louis Vuitton has announced the names of 20 semi finalists for the ninth edition of its LVMH Prize for Young Designers.

The 20 candidates were selected from more than 1,900 candidates from all over the world. This years’ participants come from 13 countries encompassing a great diversity of cultures and talents: Belgium, Canada, China, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Nigeria, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and, for the first time, Sri Lanka, The full list of candidates are :

The 20 candidates will present their collections and their creative world at a showroom in Paris on the 4th and 5th March. Similar to last year, the event will be entirely digital and will give the public the opportunity to discover the twenty semi-finalists on the lvmhprize.com website and to vote for the candidate of their choice.

‘The twenty semi-finalists are driven by an optimistic and innovative vision. They all place eco-responsibility at the heart of their creative approach with the use of recycled materials, upcycling, etc. They are also very keen on integrating a more ethical production system, while some place the spotlight on local and traditional know-how. The fluidity of womenswear and menswear is another key feature of this edition,’ said Delphine Arnault, executive vice president of Louis Vuitton and founder of the LVMH Prize.

The winner of this years’ LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers will win a 300,000-euro prize and a one-year bespoke mentorship program provided by a dedicated LVMH team. This years’ Committee of Experts include Camille Charriere, Eva Chen, Ben Cobb, Pierre A. M’Pele, Mel Ottenberg, Julia Sarr-Jamois, Cindy Sherman and Eugenie Trochu.
