Kering Eyewear makes Strategic Acquisition of Italian Lens Manufacturer Lenti
Kering Eyewear, a subsidiary of the French luxury conglomerate Kering, has announced the acquisition of Italian sunglass lens manufacturer Lenti, from Safilo Group.
Founded in 1996 in the province of Bergamo, by entrepreneur Marco Negri in partnership with global eyewear player Safilo Group, Lenti is renowned for its technical innovation and expertise in high-precision lens manufacturing of sun lenses for eyewear, visors, and other protective components for lighting, as well as the automotive and motorcycle industries.
‘We have appreciated the excellence of Lenti’s products for many years, and we are very proud to see it now joining Kering Eyewear, providing an additional area of expertise to our platform of best-in-class manufacturing skills, facilities, and, more than anything else, talents,’ Roberto Vedovotto, Founder, President, and CEO of Kering Eyewear, said in a statement.
Kering’s acquisition of Lenti marks another milestone in the ongoing industrial development strategy of Kering Eyewear, and follows on its recent acquisitions of Italian eyewear manufacturers Visard and a minority stake in Mistral in April 2025. It also highlights the forward-thinking approach of the company’s pursuit of dominance in the high-end eyewear sector through the establishment of in-house capabilities for the development of Made in Italy sun lenses characterized by exceptional quality, top-notch technical innovation, and high performance.
