Marks & Spencer launches Affordable version of the Sneakerina

British multinational retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has officially entered the hybrid footwear market with its own version of the ‘Sneakerina’.

A portmanteau of sneaker and ballerina, the sneakerina evolved from the work of designer Simone Rocha who kickstarted the trend in her Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The ballet flat was revived by Miu Miu in 2022 while Louis Vuitton globally launched the LV Sneakerina in April 2025.

The M&S Sneakerina capitalizes on the leading 2026 ‘balletcore’ footwear trend by positioning itself as a practical alternative to the high-end luxury versions of Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu. Suitable for long commutes and everyday wear, the half ballet flat, half trainer silhouette is perfectly poised to become the season’s breakout shoe.

Highlights of the M&S Sneakerina:

Suede Single Strap Mary Jane Trainers (GBP 50)

– suede low-top trainers, characterized by a hybrid ‘sneaker-meets-ballerina’ aesthetic,
– combines the lightweight, feminine elegance of a ballet flat with the technical comfort and outsole of a sneaker.
– a comfy flat sole and a Mary-Jane-inspired strap across the front with a secure riptape fastening.
– Decorative stitching and a contrast trim around elegantly shaped edges add special finishing touches.
– Insolia Flex makes walking in flats more comfortable by insuring the foot is correctly placed within the shoes, thereby improving the natural rotational movement of the ball of the foot

The Marks & Spencer (M&S) Sneakerina is available now online at the brand’s UK website, at major flagship stores and local M&S stores across the UK, including London Colney and Meadowhall.
