Gisele’s Model Search

Earlier this week, Gisele Bundchen travelled to Brazil to launch Top CUFA (Central Asnica das Favelas, or Central Union of Slums), a search for talented/potencial models in the slums of her native country. Throughout the most underprivileged areas of the 27 Brazilian states a lot of girls will be competing to become the representant of the state they live in. Then, from the 27 finalists, one from each state, one will be crowned the Top CUFA.

Speaking of the project that is intended “to boost slum dwellers’ self-esteem”, Gisele said: “I feel privileged to be the sponsor of this project”. Sharing she Bundchen had been rejected by 42 agents in London at the start of her career, she added: “I was finally taken on the 43rd try!”

The winner will be awarded a year’s worth of Pantene hair products – a brand for which Bundchen is spokesmodel in Brazil -, a year-long modelling contract, and the the honour of receiving thecrown that Bundchen won at her first Carnival!
