Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has landed her second Vogue cover and the result is flawless.

The stunning “Star Wars” actress was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and styled by Tonne Goodman in a exquisite shoot that took place at the Schiaparelli House and the Picasso Museum in Paris. On the cover of the fashion bible she sports a gold-and-crimson Valentino Haute Couture dress with her flawless skin and deep mauve lipstick with a glossy shine.

The rest of the editorial is as breathtaking as the cover itself with the 32-year-old star appearing in a series of shots wearing an ornate blue-petaled gown by Givenchy, a Dior Haute Couture silk-faille coat and Dior Fine Jewelry bracelet, and a Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda sequined cape.

In her interview with the glossy the Brooklyn-based beauty tells writer Plum Sykes about her first encounter with wearing couture clothes, race, her education at Hampshire College and the fashion sense that she inherited from her mother.

Lupita, who is also a Lancome brand ambassador recalls that her first memories of fashion occurred long before stepping on a red carpet or working with a stylist. “Presentation is extremely important in Kenya. You dress formally. You can’t just wear flip-flops,” she told Vogue. “My mother always had her own style. She wore A-line, tea-length flowery dresses, very well fitting. Her nails were always perfectly done.”

As she now works with her stylist Micaela Erlanger she mentions that as a girl she would design her own clothes. “Salons were a big feature in my life. We would go every two weeks to get our hair braided, washed, or treated. That’s where I read American, British, and a few African magazines. In Kenya it’s much cheaper to get clothes made than to buy them. We would have everything run up by a tailor, or my aunt Kitty, who is very creative, would sew things for me.”

In addition to the interview, Lupita also appears in the mag’s “73 Questions” video in which she dishes on her favorite things, the skills she picked up while working as a production assistant in L.A., moving to Mexico and much more.
