Cara Delevingne is one the distinguished subjects in artist Jonathan Yeo’s latest exhibition, ‘Jonathan Yeo Portraits’, currently on show in Demark.

The British model is considered the ‘fashion muse’ of the artist painted who nine new portraits of her. ‘The more I work with her, the more ideas I have,’ he told WWD. Yeo was introduced to Delevingne by interior designer David Linley at a Christie’s charity auction. Delevingne is said to have sat for Yeo roughly 6 times over the last 18 months. In some of the pastel colored portraits the catwalk beauty is seen looking at a Smartphone or in a mirror and sports spectacles.

The concept behind Yeo’s work explores the transition from traditional to contemporary portrait making, which has become an integral part of contemporary life with the rise of social media. ‘She is beautiful but she doesn’t mind if she doesn’t look beautiful. You can sense that genuine openness, which is not always the case with people in that line of business. She’s bright and articulate; she doesn’t take things too seriously but she is very quick to grasp concepts and ideas,’ said Yeo describing his muse in an interview with WWD.

The exhibition also includes portraits of numerous celebrities, including actor Kevin Spacey and Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.

Jonathan Yeo Portraits at The Museum of National History, Frederiksborg Castle, Denmark, is open to the public until Thursday, 30 June 2016.
