British luxury and lifestyle brand Barbour has teamed up with Alexa Chung for a third time on an Autumn/Winter collection.

Dedicated to British tradition and the love of nature, the new collection comprises an autumnal range of outerwear including waxed jackets, quilts, and casual styles, as well as two new baseball-style caps. The 11 pieces which were based on the brand’s archives dating back to 1910 have been reinterpreted by Chung with a fashionable twist. For example, The Barbour icon ‘Barbour Bedale Wax’, which was originally designed as a riding jacket by Dame Margaret Barbour in 1980, is now called “Barbour Violet Wax” by Chung. In the Alexa Chung version, the jacket has a detachable hood and the typical corduroy collar. Altogether, the result is pieces that combine the charm of the British heritage brand with Alexa Chung’s flair of modern times.

‘This is arguably my favorite collection to date as we approached the design process with more ambition, delving even deeper into the Barbour archive to explore new silhouettes and make them our own. This particular collection evokes an element of nostalgia fuelled by childhood memories of seeing my elders wearing similar shapes in Hampshire. Silhouettes are more adventurous whilst the palette is pared down. Navy features quite heavily which might not come as much of a surprise to anyone who has been following my personal wardrobe, whilst earthy tones like the chestnut brown and brick red rust feel pleasingly synonymous with both brands. It’s an autumnal English postcard of outerwear,’ Chung said of the collection in a statement.

The Barbour x Alexa Chung autumn/winter 2020 collection is available now at Barbour.com and selected stockists worldwide. Meanwhile, check out the full campaign here
