Burberry and Vivienne Westwood to collaborate on Capsule collection

Burberry announced today that it will be collaborating with British punk designer Vivienne Westwood and activist Andreas Kronthaler for a limited edition collection.

Under the leadership of Riccardo Tisci who was named Chief Creative Officer in March following the departure of Christopher Bailey, the house will re-invent its Burberry classics collection.

‘Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something,’ Tisci said of the collaboration in an Instagram post. ‘She is a rebel, a punk and unrivaled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together.’

The limited-edition collection, which celebrates the British heritage of the label will feature re-imagined iconic pieces from the brand’s vast archive. It will arrive in stores in December with proceeds in support of the Cool Earth rainforest protection association.
